The beans are very good for you. If you're making these from scratch, you need to make sure you're not putting too much fat in, and if they're from a can....check the fat content on the label. Other than that, the amount of sugar is the other thing. Most baked beans have a lot of sugar in them as well. Overall, though, they're a pretty decent food containing a good amount of fiber. Of course you'll want to be eating a variety of foods, making sure that you get complete proteins. Have a slice of whole wheat bread with your baked beans...and a mixed green salad with low-fat dressing to give you some fresh veggies.
