Help me keep the freshman 15 at bay!!?!

Question: Help me keep the freshman 15 at bay!!!?
I won't have much time to prepare meals, or much money to buy them, once i'm in school and working full time!. Any ideas for cheap healthy convenient food I can eat on the way to class/work!? I don't eat a lot of meat except lean lunchmeat!. I know college kids eat a lot of ramen noodles, but the thought of that makes me shudder (they're loaded with fat and virtually no nutrients!) I need some easy (portable) meal ideas!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, lets face it healthy and quick rarely go together but as a junior in college who has kept the freshmen 15 far away I will try to give some helpful hints!.
Things I buy every time I am at the store: yogurt, eggs, crackers, lunch meat, bread, jello, baby carrots, celery, rice cakes, canned tuna, granola bars(not chewy, the REAL granola)!.
What works for me is I prepare my breakfast and lunch the night before, so yogurt is a given and I make a sandwich or half sandwich for lunch the next day with carrots instead of chips!. I throw in a rice cake for something sweet (caramel corn is the best!)!. If I am home to cook dinner I like to make scrambled eggs and toast or cook a chicken breast with some flavored seasoning, open a can of veggies and some other carb usually noodles with EVOO and salt!.

If you can't cook for dinner try buying the frozen SmartOnes or Healthy Choice meals and stock up when they go on sale at your local store, $2 a meal is dang cheap and those usually taste really good and have everything pre-portioned out for you!.

You don't have to eat ramen noodles in college, I never did and never had to!. Just take your time at the grocery store despite your busy schedule and read labels for fat content and preservatives (they pack on the pounds)!. Buy a lunch box if you don't have one and if your meal doesn't fit in it then you are eating too much!. You will learn what fits you best over time and adjust your lifestyle to it!. I hope this helps and remember, no matter how hungry you are a candy bar is the worst thing you can do to your body!!

Also, Tupperware is a good investment!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Low fat trail mix, fresh and dried fruit, buy natural peanut butter (without added oil or sugar) the kind with oil on top, and pour it out and use jelly with no added sugar (sweetened with fruit juice) and make sandwiches on whole grain bread!. Rice cakes without fat!. Find a local Whole Foods store, too!.

All need no refrigeration!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
