Hi! I've been eating 1200 calories a day, burning off 400 at the gym 5 days a week!. I lost ten pounds and have ten more to go to get to the 19!.0 BMI that I want!.

My period was supposed to happen five days ago, and I fall asleep a lot!. I could nap for 2 hours a day if I'm not careful!

Right now I'm at a weight loss plateau!. What should I do!? I do need to lose the weight, so please answer appropriately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The problem is you probably have already dropped below the BMI required for the monthly period to happen!. Your body is thinking it's moved to a famine area, and it's also trying to conserve what few reserves it has left!. So you would stop the periods and the weight loss would temporarily stop, because your metabolism has just about ground to a halt!. You also may be anemic, due to the diet!. It could also be the lack of calories making you tired, as you simply don't have enough energy coming in to run everything!. You can't run a car on fumes, and you can't run your body that way either!. When a female's BMI drops below 20, there is always the chance of a menstrual cycle disruption!. Some ladies will tolerate a lower level, some will not!. It sounds like you are one of the ones who won't!. I know you think you need to lose weight, but chances are probably pretty good that you really don't!. Chances are good that you would be better served by eating a bit more and not trying to lose at all!. You really should consider laying off the diet for a while, and simply try to maintain the current weight!. Add a chewable multivitamin-mineral supplement to your routine, children's vitamins work just fine for that, and give it some time!. You will probably find you actually feel a lot better after a few weeks, which will be the confirmation that your body is at it's optimum weight!. It may not be as low as you would like, but good health and fitness are a lot more attractive than a sickly malfunctioning body is!. Not what you wanted to hear, I know - but what your body needs you to understand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when the body goes below 12% body fat for women the period stops, your body is trying to survive and conserve energy!

Did you know that when you get Amenorrhea (loss of period) it puts you at risk for osteoporosis!?
When your body has enough body fat, your period will start again!.

Please abandon this diet and eat before you really hurt yourselfWww@Answer-Health@Com

well if you're eating 1200 calories and then burning off 400, you're really only giving your body 800 calories!. thats not enough to give your body energy!. i understand that you need to lose the weight, but you need to eat enough to keep functioning!. i dont know much, but i would try eating protein before you work out, like cheese or peanuts!. this will help you build more muscle!. the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, just by sitting down!. even though you want to lose weight, remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so you could be getting rid of fat, but replacing it with muscle!. also, be careful by measuring your goals by BMI!. you would need to get a specified weight loss plan or talk to a personal trainer to find out what YOUR BMI should be, not what the average BMI is!. and you might want to get that whole skipped period thing checked out by your doctor!. because that means you have low body fat content, which isnt always goodWww@Answer-Health@Com
