A girl on a radio contest drank a couple gallons in a couple hours and died from it. It's called water poisoning but you really got to drink a lot to be in any danger. The radio station got in HUGE trouble over this, you can probably google it, it was only a few months ago I think.

No its not true water is good for you cleans out your system!! its actually good for you the only bad thing about it is going pee alot!!

This is in response to "your last best friend" That happened cause the radio show was holding a contest for who could hold in their pee the longest the girl held it in for too long and got poisoning of the bladder because the pee was just sitting there in her bladder...

Well i'm a big enough person to admit when i'm wrong... and i am apparently you can die from drinking too much water, don't want someones death on my conscience!!! Sorry about that!!

YES IT CAN BE.

DRINKING LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER AT ONE TIME CAN THROW OFF YOUR ELECTROLITES. WICH IN TURN ACTUALLY DEHYDRATES YOU.

true, it could rot your intestines

Umm yea it is unhealthy, a girl just died by drinking a crap load of water for some radio contest. I wouldnt do it.

you can drink too much water and it can cause death. The link below will take you to a site with info on it

Drinking too much water can be just as dangerous as dehydration. You will feel yucky. Most people will not reach this with normal thirst and drinking.

Too much water creates an imbalance in your blood - it becomes too watered down. For example, potassium and ions in your blood will be off balance because of the amount of water in the blood.

Hope this helps!

i heard that thats not very healthy too, water i great for you no doubt but apparently having like a full glass of water all at once just a few times a day, isn't as good as drinking not as much through out the day. this is because when you drink so much at once, your body doesn't have time to send it where it needs or use it, it has to focus on getting it through your system quickly so it doesn't have too much water, but if theres a time when you want to drink a lot of water but you think its not good for you, drink the water, water is water and its wonderful for you, just try to drink through out the day, and not all at once

potentially yes. depending on how much you drank you could actually drown from drinking too much water. check out the links below.

Yes, it's true, because it takes up too much space in your intestines, and your bladder won't be able to handle it. I haven't heard this news about the girl on the radio show, but I do not doubt it's true. Ok, I read about it just now, and others have died from it too. It's called water intoxication, and you can die from hyponatremia. So no matter what anyone else says, yes it is true.

yeah.
because you can go into hyponatremia..or too little sodium in the blood.

this can cause things like headaches, decreased blood pressure, and even seizures (haha i totally sound like a commercial right now..but im just in med school =])

did you hear about that contest called hold your wee for a wii?
it was held by a radio station to see who could drink the most water and a girl actaully died from it.

basically though you will make the sodium levels in your blood too low, and it can cause problems.
