There are many good exercises for your thighs that can be done without fitness equipment. Exercise doesn't have to be expensive to be effective.

Here are a few simple exercises for your thighs you can do without any fitness equipment.

# Walking
Brisk walking for 30 minutes a day is a great way to melt fat away and tone your legs and thighs if you walk every day. Walking up hills or inclines will make it happen much faster.

# Swimming
If you don't have a pool most neighborhoods have a community pool that is close to where you live. Swimming is one of the most enjoyable and best ways to get an aerobic workout and is excellent to tone your leg and thigh muscles.

# Dancing
Even something as fun as dancing is a great exercise to tone your muscles. Put on your tunes and start dancing your way into shape. Just 30 minutes a day will actually make working out fun. Exercise DVDs are another excellent way to tone leg and thigh muscles.

# Stairs
Take the stairs as often as you can because this is a perfect leg and thigh toning exercise. I get a lot of compliments on my legs and people think I live at the gym but in fact I walk a lot and I take the stairs every chance I get. Walking up and down stairs work well so don't discount this one.

If you increase your physical activity on a regular basis you will develop more fat burning enzymes than someone who doesn't exercise at all. So fat won't form on your legs like it would if you didn't exercise.

The whole idea is to get your body moving as often as you can. None of these exercises involve any fitness equipment and hopefully this will give you a few ideas.
