When you don't get enough sleep, you're lathargic all day long. Often you compensate by taking in more calories (calories are energy, right?), but you're body is not using those calories, so they turn into fat. If you sleep too much, you're not burning calories. Assuming you take in the same amount of calories regardless of how much sleep you get, those calories will turn into fat.

you bet, if your working out hard your muscles have to rebuild some time. they rebuild a little throughout the day, but a long night of sleep is really when the growth occurs. i dont believe sleep is associated with fat gain because your body is usually fasting at the time and calories are being burned digesting food and keeping the metabolism up.too little sleep and you will have a hard time gaining weight so ive heard. (i like to get good sleep especially when workng out hard)

just a stab in the dark but i'm guessing the more you sleep the more weight you will gain as you not physically active and burning off as many calories as you would be if you was up and about doing everyday things.

It is true. The reason that too much sleep causes weight gain is because your body is dormant too many hours out of the day, and you dont burn calories.
The reason that too little sleep causes you to gain weight is because when your body is tired your body looks for energy from food, causing you to be tired.
I used to sleep way too much. Now i go to bed at midnight and wake up at 7 every morning. You have to get your body into a routine, and stick to it.

Best of Luck to you!! Brittany :)

if you don't have enough sleep you may put on weight.it all depends on waht you do while being awake.you'll loose weight if you work out but you'll put on if you spend that time watching tv or eating
