How do I increase my endurance?!


Question: I am trying to lose weight (especially in my thighs) and I am trying to run a lot, but I can only run for like 12 minutes at 5-6mph! how can I run faster,longer?? please help!!

try to set a longer goal each time you run, taking deep breathes before you begin running also allows your lungs to open more, which would help you breathe better and longer too.

Add one more minute a week.

Why do you feel you have to run? You will burn fat faster if you exercise for a longer period of time at a slower pace. May I suggest you try walking briskly rather than running. By using Racewalking technique you would get even a better workout than you will from fitness walking. Walking is easier on your body than running as it is lower impact and you can do longer workouts, thereby burning more fat. Have you thought about supplementing your exercise with swimming or biking, both will help you burn fat and trim your thighs.

Well...........Im jst 15 so you may think that what Im bout 2 tell u is stupid....BUT it worked 4 me............I'm a frosh n im in the frosh football team and im in varsity wrestling.....In wrestling we run a lot and we are always moving....What I like to do is either Sing a song (in my head) dat gets me pump up (mostly rock).....or...lsing some smoooth music (oldies).........While I did this we would be running 5 miles a day......So.....Try it...and eventually ur body is going to get more comfortable on running faster N longer!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!!!!
