Answers: & nutritions
do you need to run a marathon ?
Lots of carbs in your diet and run run run. Start small with maybe 1 mile at a time and then work your way up. An example would be:
Week 1:
Mon - run 1 mile
Tues - run 1 mile
Wed - run 1 mile
Thurs - run 1.5 miles
Fri - run 1.5 miles
Sat and Sun rest
Week 2:
Mon - run 1.5 miles
Tues - run 2 miles
Wed - run 2 miles
Thurs - run 2 miles
Fri - run 3 miles
Sat and Sun rest
Week 3:
Mon - run 3 miles
Tues - run 3 miles
Wed - run 4 miles
Thurs - run 4 miles
Fri - run 4 miles
Sat and Sun rest
Week 4:
Same thing, just up your miles gradually.
Keep it up every week while steadily increasing the milage ran per day. That way your body will acclimate itself to the training gradually and you won't be discouraged by slow or no results. Remember to eat your carbs and drink LOTS of water. Stretch before you run and get plenty of rest.
Endurance training! Its the only way to get ready and it can be brutal so pace yourself.
Eating right will help you as well.
endurance cardio in the form of jogging for the most part i'd have thought, with some high intensity interval training.
A regular healthy diet should be fine for training, then in the day or two before the marathon you'll probably want to load up on carbs.
