Will this hurt my knee more or help?!

Question: For the past couple weeks my left knee has really been bothering me (right knee is fine). I didn't fall or do anything to hurt it, I think it is because I am overweight. Well, I have a treadmill and I want to start using it again to lose some of this weight. But I'm worried if walking on the treadmill will make it worse. So, I'm wondering if doing this will help or hurt my knee. Thanks is advance!

stretch your knee out and then take a long walk if it still hurts make a doctors appointment

If it's just a small ache, "walking it off" could help. However, if it's worse than that, you should see a doctor about it, just in case.

start slow and avoid "pounding" it. if it hurts, stop

See your doctor! If your knee has been bothering you for weeks there's something wrong.

Put a brace on it. ( you could find one at walgreens or by any pharmacy) I hurt my knee too and when I put the brace on it felt a lot better.

I am not sure how overweight you are and how old you are. With that in mind - try walking on your treadmill at a 3% incline to take some of the stress off of your knee. - Make sure your minerals are good and electrolites are inbalance. Dehydration will effect your muscles around the knee - I walked around for 2 months with a knee that seemed to hurt and i could not straighten out all the way. I to did not fall or sleep on it funny or anything. I had a mri done - xrays - everything - add powered magnisium to my water and a miricle happened my knee became better forever. My mother also had knee trouble and so i suggested the incline to her and her knee really felt better so is over 70 and heavy. I hope this helps. good luck!

walking won't hurt your knee. jogging/running with a hurt knee could be bad from the impact, because you'll step much harder.
Try doing squats. It'll straighten your legs and help increase bone density. This can allow you legs to take more of the load and apply less to the knees, also it reduces the chances of you hurting your knee again.
