Would this help me lose 15lbs by june??!


Question: If I started today jogging on the treadmill (about 5 -7mph) everyday for atleast 30 minutes, then do light strenght training mon, wed, fri. (like some pushups, lifting 5lbs dumbbels, using resistance bands,, crunches not too much though maybe 30 mins of various workouts like that) ... Would that help me lose fat & gain some muscle tone by June (also, after I reached my goal I would cut down the treadmill to 2 or 3 days a week & strength training to just 1 day a week to maintain)... Thanks! =)

That plus a healthy diet will definitely help you reach your goal. Another thing that could help if you're focusing on losing the fat is interval training. Its one of the best workouts for fat loss. It consists of short bursts of cardiovascular activity at close to maximum exertion. If you're running on the treadmill try incorporating 30-45 second intervals increased speed (9-10mph) or walk uphill. If you're lifting weights, do a set of jumping jacks, squat jumps or mountain climbers in between. The key here is to challenge your lungs and vary the intensity at which you are working out. There are lots of resources online to help you find the right workouts for your fitness level, so do a bit of reading & you'll find some great ideas.
