What am I doing wrong here?!! weightloss sucks!!?!


Question: I have been counting my weight watchers points (granted i probably use all of my extra weekly points over the weekend with beer and restaurant food for at least two meals) and i work out six or seven days a week for an hour and a half to two hours and i haven't lost a single freakin flippin pound!!!!! I am getting so frustrated. Here is what I do, help!!!
Cardio-eliptical (better on my sore "dancers knees") for 30mins
and i lift weights using the machines at the gym and some dumbbells for 45-60 mins!!! I do full body workouts, and just heard that i should be doing arms one day and lower and abs another....help!!
why haven't i lost any weight and omg how do i get to where i can lose 20lbs! i am getting married in october!!!!

First off, your workouts are too long. Cap it at an hour. When you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of reps (like 3 sets of 15 reps using a weight that is just heavy enough so you start to "feel the burn" at the end of your set). Stick with the full-body workouts, but do them every other day. Circuit training is good for weight loss, so if your gym has a circuit set-up, try doing that.

Your cardio-elliptical is fine. If you want, you can add walking wherever and whenever. Walking burns fat almost exclusively and burns almost as many calories per hour as cardio without pounding the crap out of your joints.

CUT OUT ALCOHOL!!! Beer is one of the worst offenders because it's loaded with bad-for-you carbs that easily get converted to fat. It also has a wasting effect on your thigh and butt muscles. Losing that 20 pounds is going to require sacrifice on your part, and beer is one thing that needs to go.

I'm not a big fan of WW because it's too easy to fudge on their point system. You can stick with it if you like, but it sounds like it's not working for you. If you would like to try something else, here are some diet tips:
