Can your body be in starvation mode if you exercise a lot?!

Question: Most people say like, anorexics only lose weight 'cause it's muscle wearing away, but if you don't eat alot, and continue to exercise a lot daily, wouldn't that keep your muscles how they were and then fat burn away instead?

Ask someone on here to show you a scientific study of "starvation mode". Most people have no idea what they're talking about and attempt to scare people away from serious caloric restrictions and exercise because they're ignorant, fearful, jealous, or all of the previous. The less you eat and the more you exercise, the less fat you'll have, period. There are small changes in metabolism, but nothing enough to be deemed "starvation mode" and nothing that more exercise can't fix. Don't believe everything you hear.

LOL. No. That's a stupid assumption. Not eating a lot will always mean that you're losing muscle and fat. Regardless if you "work out" or not.

Im not sure but I asked a similar question but got different answers. I think when fasting or starving your body goes for the muscle then the fat. Someone told me it was genetics like you know how different ppl carry weight in different places and lose at different rates and some ppl lose fat before muscle or muscle before fat. Thats what I was told.

Yes it can. Exercise has nothing to do with starvation mode. Starvation mode occurs when you don't eat often enough or enough for your body to do it's basic functions.

With exercise, you will actually use your muscles as protein for your body if you are not meeting your body's minimum daily uptake of protein.

If your looking to lose weight be healthy about it. You can exercise and burn off more than you consume. Starving your body will cause it to attack muscle. If you have body fat to lose then exercising will burn the fat first. Just remember that over weight people can become malnourished.
