Answers: 1)How can you prevent your body from gaining?
2)How can you maintain a fast metabolism during a fast?

1) You can't. That's why fasting isnt an effective way to lose weight. You WILL gain it back

2) Adding a drop of lemon juice to your water should help, but in general fasting does mess up your metabolism.

Try to stay away from the bad habits that put on the weight in the first place because you'll just pile on the weight again.

Well first off, you have to know how to work a fast. Fasting helps the body to complete the digestive process before the next meal. I believe one reason we have problems with metabolism is that we tend to "bog" down the digestive processes with meals and snacking that are too close together. We all fast so no one can say it is unhealthy unless they can say we are ALL unhealthy. This is why we break the fast with breakfast. I do not break my fast until 2:00 in the afternoon ( give or take ). When it is time to break my fast, I do it with a feast. For example I had steak, pan fried celery root and onions, avocado slices and sugarfree pudding. Any idea of what happens within the next 2 hours after breaking my fast? Peristalsis is stimulated and you know what follows. If I snack in between it is on nuts, cheese, bell pepper strips, strawberries etc. Then for dinner I had baked fillet of sole and buttered spinach.I eat like this everyday. I find that the older I get, the less food I need to eat. So, if this is the case, I have to train my body to hunger for fewer meals. This is why I eat a diet that is high in protein and fats.to keep my insulin stable. This is very important no matter what your eating style is. Insulin needs to be stable for a healthy metabolism. Also, I choose nutritious whole food, no meal replacement bars, shakes etc. I also exercise and take supplements like vitamin D3 and omega 3s. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
