Diet - Is this a good start?!

Question: Just started my "diet" the day. I have just worked out on my cross trainer there now and done the equivilient of 300 calories. Is this ok as a start and then gradually build up even more. I dont want to kill myself as I start out if you know what I mean. Trying to bump up the exercise even more and to eat healthier plus drink lots more water.

Does anyone have any tips out there?? Any success stories would also be much appreciated.

I lost 40 pounds last year over 9 months!! I started with a minimum of 30 minutes cardio and then after a month I was sticking to an hour of cardio. sometimes I would switch it up like 30 minutes on the eliptical and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Then I did crunches and worked out my legs, arms and everything else for a minimum of an hour. I think you should see what machines work best for you and give you the best workout and stick to a minimum so you can always go over but try and never go under. You can always set a minimum of calories you want to burn too! On somedays that I knew I ate a little more or splurged I would try and burn a minimum of 500-600 calories and just doing the eliptical for an hour burns that! Good luck! Just know that you need rest days as well and maybe treat yourself to a dessert or something to splurge otherwise your just killing yourself not being able to enjoy any of those treats !

Well 300 calories burned is nothing . If you walk like to your school and back for a distance of 1.7 kilometres then you burn 200 calories like that in 10 minutes. Well you should start to burn atleast 500 calories. You wont kill yourself from walking or even dancing burns alot of calories. For success stories look into a magazine or some celebrities. But when your dieting you dont starve yourself. You should always eat some proportion of what you have lost.
