just stop! plan what you are going to eat & go to the supermarket! i don't want to be mean, but you area heartattack waiting to happen at 19stone - quit the habit!

Dude you need to stop! They are SO bad for you seriously. The thing is they are addictive so you jsut want more and more which is why you find it hard to stop. Maybe talk to some one to help you to stop yourself but it's going to be hard! If you have will power though you can do it! :)

i know how u feel, its easier and tastes better!!

I used to have take aways almost everyday but i saw a disturbing video of rats in a takeaways restaurant and i stopped ordering since then!

so google for some videos or pic and the more disgusted u feel the better it is!

sounds weird but trust me, it works!

you need to get back into the habit of cooking your own meals. getting takeaway is expensive and usually higher in calories than home cooked meals. it really doesn't take that long to cook healthy, nutritious, low calorie meals it just takes a little more effort and your health is surely worth that..

A few thoughts:
1) Gather some pizza boxes, chip trays, etc around you and then force yourself to look at yourself naked in the mirror for a little longer than you can hold your stomach in for. Remember that image. Take a picture of yourself if you have to. Use that image when you get cravings.
2) Calculate how much you spend per month on take away foods. Work out your annual spend. Then work out where you could go on holiday for that price and start saving with that destination in mind.
3) It is likely to be the addictive quality of salt and MSG in a lot of fast food that makes you crave it. start thinking of your take aways as heart attack food, like cigarettes are cancer sticks.
4) Start exercising. It will give you something to do, take your mind off it, make you feel better and help you lose some weight.
5) Learn to cook healthy variations of your favourite fast food: e.g. if you like Chinese, boiled wholegrain rice with lightly wok cooked veges and tofu, seasoned with ground ginger and lemon juice is a peice of pisss to make, incredibly good for you and low in fat. Homemade pizza without cheese is also within this hamfisted egit's cooking abilities...
6) Don't expect it to happen overnight - you're bound to slip up and binge once in a while. The trick is to carry on, not think "sod it - I've blown it." One take away doth not a fat bastard make!
7) Make damned sure you reward yourself with that holiday and have a blast. We can't be saints all the time.

I have been in the same boat but am in recovery if that makes sense. I am of a similar weight but have lost two stone and my downfalls are exactly the same, chocolate and take aways! I have found the only way for me is to say that no food is forbidden as that seems to make me more determined to have it. Work out what your worst days are and plan ahead, I love a load of junk food on a Friday and Saturday night so now I do a low fat curry on one night and instead of naan, poppodoms and rice I just choose one of them and have a small portion. I also have low fat puds in like skinny cow or weight watchers mini puds, they are quite nice and feel like a treat. Occasionally I have take away and I really enjoy it, chicken shish kebab is good as it is grilled chicken and salad.
It is sooo hard and I lose it often but try always to get on with it and joined Slimming World to help me, mainly because knowing you have to get weighed makes you get on, and I always go, even when I havent lost. I have a massively long way to go but anything worth having takes time and hard work. Good luck!

its up to you by spending money on groceries ,or precooked meals, you can enjoy something you cooked for yor self for a change..................

I used to do this too! Now I go shopping regularly, buy good healthy, wholesome food and we have a proper family dinner each night. We do still have a takeaway on a Saturday, but that is usually the only night. I swim regularly with my sister-in-law, unfortunately for health reasons this is the only sport I can still do. I walk as much as my health will allow.

Think of your health and think of your family. Do you want to end up with diabetes, a heart condition, possibly have a stroke or even worse? Take a picture of yourself and stick it to the fridge, put another on the biscuit cupboard. Look at these each time you are tempted. Think of how you want to look. You don't have to be skinny to look good, but you do need to be healthy. Your health will improve, you will have more energy and you will be happier.

I know you like to paint and draw. Pack your things and take a sketch pad or canvas, go for a walk and draw and paint the things you see on the way. This way you can use something you enjoy to help you with your fitness.

Good luck

Ok, I have no answer to this one.

I eat takeaways 'Once' in a blue blue moon, even simple English fish n chips, for example, are a rarity for me.

The 'reason' for the Why you go hunting for takeaways has to have its roots in some 'thing' that has meanings for you, and you would do best looking for it. Do try your GP for the initial help you want and need..

I get the feeling your worth the fight.
Sash.

i would suggest getting salads instead
