i did that and i lost my health. i'm in recovery for anorexia.

Enough to put them into the hospital and gain it all back plus some if they live.

That is not helpful at all. That is at the anorexic level. If you eat about 1200 or 1500 calories per day for two weeks it is possibel to lose between 7 and 15 lbs.

5 pounds tops.

Dumb idea tho. Tell your friend not to do it. Must be a friend. I know you wouldn't.

they might lose quite alot
but as soon as they start eating again
not only will they put it all back on
their metabolism will never be the same
and they'll have f**kd up their heart & muscles coz when you dont feed yourself enough your body eats your muscles-
needless to say its not good.

You will gain weight, not lose weight. It is very unhealthy to just eat 500 CALORIES. One MEAL is supposed to be at least 300.

Please, while you're trying to kill yourself, get some common sense and a life, too.

i'm sorry, but that is a very stupid thing to do. seriously why would you want to screw up your metabolism?!

What you are doing is not healthy.

I don't know, but you are sure to gain a whole lot of weight afterwards. Because when the body is used to receiving few calories, when you start to eat again, your body will fight to retain every calorie it can, in compensation, instead of burning them.
Eating less is the worst way of losing weight, and is certainly not a way of being healthy.

The average person needs about 1800 calories a day. Going to 500 calories is likely to cause serious problems. You could end up in the hospital and do damage to your vital organs, like your kidneys and liver. If you think you need to lose weight, find your body fat to determine how much you need to lose and plan on losing 2-3 pounds a week. Any more and it will usually come back. Instead of dieting, just do some simple exercises. Do some aerobics in the morning and again in the evening.
