How do you stay motivated when you are so close to your goal?!
Question: I"m like 5 lbs away from my ideal weight..
Answers: I"m like 5 lbs away from my ideal weight..
Stop thinking it as a Goal. There should be no motivation coming into it Its a life time thing. Its about lifestyle change as you have already said.
Keep a picture or poster of your favorite celebrity or someone who has an appearance that you like for inspiration.....for example, I think Jessica Alba has a nice body so I think of her to stay motivated. I may not be able to achieve the perfect body, but at least I will stay motivated, lose some weight, and stick to my lifestyle change and exercise routine. I was 130 lbs and now I'm 113 lbs and very happy. I'm tempted to go back to my old habits but I know all my efforts will be in vain and gain back all the weight I lost. You're only 5 lbs away, so keep at it! 5 lbs isn't much to lose and you're soooooo close. You will feel good about yourself when you reach your goal(s). I would do it if I were you. Don't give up. Don't go back to your old ways. Keep your lifestyle the way it is now. Good luck.
That is a really good question. Most people's commitment to their goals sway when the become comfortable---or as you said it, they are really close to there original goal.
The first question I would ask you is--How important is it to you to loose the last 5 pounds? Don't answer too quickly, really think about it. You may find that what you have achieved has given you what you want. If so, I say congratulate yourself and now focus on staying healthy and maintaining your new found body. But if it is still important--find someone close to you to be accountable to and check in with them often. And if you are not already doing so, keep a food journal of everything you eat. Since our diet contributes to over 60% of our results, it makes sense to pay careful attention to what we eat.
