How does one stay slender while enjoying alcohol?!

Question: i love going to the bar on friday and saturday nights. i could not imagine life without it. but i absolutely have to give up the beer. it is making me gain too much weight. i need to lose weight but i still need to drink on the weekends. its so boring to not drink on the weekends. there aint nothin else to do.

dont tell me to go to AA, or that i need help. simply tell me some good alternatives to beer. what kinds of drinks can i just sip and relax and catch a good buzz off of?

I find that the bigger problem is what we eat after we drink the alcohol. Lots of people pig out because 1.) the alcohol makes them hungry and 2.) their inhibitions are lowered so they eat whatever they see. Try to keep healthy snacks within reach if you're drinking.

Either stop drinking so often, or else get used to the idea of looking "puffy"! Alcohol is not just empty calories...it makes you retain fluids which will make you bloated and heavier.

Don't drink beer. Sip on wine or liquor.

Gin & Tonic is good!

spirts like vodka with diet coke hardly any calories!
well compared to beer and such anyways

Try drinking spirits - with low calorie mixers -

lots of times I will drink a diet with vodka and lime. Then in between those I will just get a diet or water and ask for a lime. That way it looks like an alcoholic drink but it isn't.

You basically don't want people to tell you anything different from what you want, have or you are used to....

sooo good luck following any advice...

I used to do Weight Watchers--it's helped me lose a lot of weight--in a healthy way--I love love the program. And I drank the whole time I was on it.

The way it works--you get a certain # of points per day and you get 35 points to use anytime during the week on top of that. 35 points is about the equivalent of a day's eating--so that's a lot of points.

I would always stay on track all week---so on Fridays and Saturdays I could drink up my 35 points (3 points for a light beer)--I could get smashed every weekend and I still lost weight! I loved it......it's worth looking into seriously.

Oh and hard liquor--mix with diet soda--I always drank diet coke and rum--2 points a drink--and you adjust to the taste of the diet soda.

Red wine, it has health benefits too.
