Eat a decent meal - do weight training after 1 or 1 1/2 hours. It is important to do weights after a good portion of food.
Avoid sugary based drinks if you can.
Eat Proteins - help in muscle building.

Most important for toning - stick to low weights - more repetitions. You will see this in most body buildng websites.
Eat, Exercise and above all rest!!!
