Errgghhh! Im confused. (Details inside)?!

Question: Im 16 and weigh 261 pounds. Ive cut out soda. Im trying to lose weight. My parents were going to buy me a treadmill next month. Now my dad went into the hospital. Thats more bills that will pile up. Were already in debt! We probably wont be able to afford it.

Right now im looking into a CHEAP treadmill. A manual one for the winter months. And then after those winter months are gone, I will walk outside. I have a big backyard and thats what I used last fall. I lost a couple of pounds from it.

I planned on walking an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening on this treadmill. I heard that people say manuals suck because they stop when you stop. Where one with a motor pushes you. I dont believe this. I think it will work just as good. My brother lost weight from just walking. And cutting out sweets and used portion control.

The treadmill is right here:

Visit a nutritionist, everyone is different, therefore different foods suit different diets. Sometimes cutting out soda is not enough, that doesn't mean you have to starve yourself or eat bland foods it just means you need to have a very balanced diet as maybe your metabolism is a little slower than the average persons. Put Your snow boots on and walk for 20 minutes everyday, the colder the weather the faster you'll walk and the more fat you'll burn. Good Luck and remember you don't have to spend alot of money to get healthy. Be creative!!

If you do it consistently you should lose weight. However, a motorized one is more effective, so before you purchase a manuel one, look to see if there are any cheap motor treadmills available

Okay, don't laugh but I would walk in place or I would go to the mall and walk.

If you're well enough (and your house has them), walking up and down stairs burns a lot of calories.

Best of everything with you and your family.

Check at a thrift store, Goodwill, or garage sales. You can get really cheap exercise equipment. I think it is a great start, but hopefully you have access to a doctor that can help you with your plan. Good luck!

Anything that will get you moving will help you lose weight. If you plan to move outdoors when(if?) spring comes then this is perfectly fine for use when you can be outside. You are just starting out(it sounds) and I think this would be perfect for you. A manual will also require you to do it yourself and won't do the work of moving the tread for you. Good luck!

my sister works @ Kmart shes 6teen 2 anyways u should buy it with your own $ unless u don't have a job then get 1.

well i have this friend who weighed about 220 and he started walking about 5 miles a day...like fast walking so tht he was out of breath and his heart was pumping real good...getting the blood to circulate. he also has cut out soft drinks and sweets but also all of the unhealthy foods. he really has tried to keep his meals down to salads and light foods and not potato chips and doughnuts. in the past 2 months he has lost 25 pds. and all he does for exercise is walk about 5 miles a day so i think if you walk and cut out all the crap food you should be fine!

Anything is worth a go. If it sucks what is 75 dollars compared to your health and happiness? People should be supporting you for your efforts. And well done on the weight you've already lost! Keep it up and you'll soon be on your way to acchieving your goal!!!

Any kind of treadmill is good for loosing weight or keeping fit, just make sure you choose one which I suitable to your weight and don't over do it cuz that never helps. I've used both a manual and motorized and found them both to be useful, the only problem I ever had with a manual one is that sometimes it would loosen and it's a lot of hassle to keep tightening it up. If you don't tighten it then it'll go way too fast too keep up with too.
Hope this helps

Have you looked into the wrestling team at your high school? it maybe a little late in the season, but they should still let you join. I understand your desire to work out in private, but there are a lot of other great things that come along with the team...challenges, friends, discipline, fitness...as long as you try hard and show your dedication, you should have lots of fun.

the other option you have is to just use your school's weight room. they are ususally open early in the morning as well as after school, it's and option and won't cost a dime.
