Constipated chick needs help?!


Question: OK see i am 15 and have my few extra pounds. I have always exercised and watched my eating but i just dont loose the fat. I told the doctor about the prob and she said i had to grow. Ok so now my stomach hurts all the time and i get bowel movements rarely. and if i get them they are like super small like the size of beans and it hurts a lot. also i always feel that someone is scratching my esophagus. i can't stand it please help i do everything i am supposed to but no change.

It sounds like you just need some fluid in your system. The small hard stools mean that the "food" has stayed in your intestines so long that all the water was reabsorbed. You need about an ounce of fluid per kilogram of body weight per day to maintain a healthy system. Sodas and such dont count on your fluid either. Try drinking about 8 glasses of water a day and see if your bowels dont start moving at least every other day and your stomach will feel better and your throat might actually start feeling better as well. IF you use over the counter laxatives or stool softeners and you dont drink enough water, it will just make the problem worse. Most of them work by pulling water into your bowel, If your body is dry already, you may get dehydrated and really feel like crap, no pun intended.
Try the water, it also helps people lose weight faster too. I lost 8 pounds in two weeks once by drinking the water and exercising every day for 30 minutes and still ate what i wanted.

Start drinking prune juice it never fails

You could use an enema. Don't freak. It's better than ex-lax that screws up your insides. It works within 15-20 minutes and you feel so much better. Believe it or not enemas are an old remedy that worked for a lot of people. It was like a cure all. Can't hurt!

i used to take Miralax.

and eat lots of fiber.

scratching at your esophagus doesn't sound good. It could be acid reflux or indigestion. Has anything changed lately regarding your activity level or diet? Maybe something you've changed is aggravating your digestion. If it continues, you should probaby see the doctor and get checked out.
and btw, try not to worry about a "few extra pounds". you say you've always exercised and watched your eating, so I'm sure you're perfectly healthy and you're doctor is probably right. Be patient and just continue to take care of yourself.

It's better not to buy laxative pills. There are alot of foods that can work as laxatives:
Apples, apple cider, bananas, bran, flaxseed oil, beetroot, carrot juice, sunflower seeds, garlic, honey, liqorice, olive oil, rhubarb, spinach, and of course prunes.
I also find Red Bull makes me really want to go.
