Why is that if you squat -- even with light weights -- you still feel really sor!

Question: I mean, I could do 5 sets of legs extensions, leg curls, and leg presses at heavy weights and still not feel sore afterwards. But if I did a couple sets of squats with fairly light to medium weights, I would feel sore for the next few days. Why is this?

Because they are hands-down awesome, and engage your entire body.

Also, if you're getting sore - make sure you get back in the gym 2 or 3 days later and do them again, even if you're still sore. Then go back in 2 or 3 days. By then you will be amazed that you can do them without getting sore afterwards, and can even start adding weight. A good goal is to work up towards being able to squat your own bodyweight. I have to admit I'm not there, though!

because of that called the king of exercise "squats"that effect not only legs but also back, hip, good for you.

It works multiple muscles.

It'll hurt less if you do it more.

You don't work those muscle groups enough. You should hit them at least 2 times per week. The longer you wait the more lactic acid builds up in the muscle.
