Question: .... fat go when people lose weight?
My youngest son and I were watching an American documentary today about large people, and when they have lost weight they have lots of flaps of spare skin, so my lad wants to know where does the fat go when people lose weight?

Our bodies are amazing. It really does disappear! The matter we can see (fat) changes into energy we can't see (energy)!
The fat is converted back into energy, or calories. When we exercise, we use up the fat. It turns into heat and power.
So when you walk a mile, the fat changes into energy, which is released every time your foot strikes the pavement.
Good question!
"Sing it loud" is correct to a degree......if a really obese person loses a lot of weight, though, they will have "flaps", especially under the arms and around their tummy and thighs. Some end up having these surgically reduced. Our bodies are amazing, but if we have been abusing them over a long period of time, sometimes, they do not recover completely, 100 per cent.....sorry if this bursts your bubble, but is true.
your body burns it up
it gets burnt off and turned into energy
It hangs off their body . most people get the hanging skin cut off.. ..
