Has anyone here ever lost weight just by excersising more and watching your port!
Question: Eating more vegetables like corn or green beans at dinner. And just by walking about an hour a day? My doctor told me that, you just need to watch your portions of what you already eat and just excersise more. He didnt say how long. But I figure about an hour to 2 hours a day at my current weight (16 5'9 261 pounds.) Lets say an hour in the morning, an hour in the evening. Walking briskly 30 minutes, taking a 5 minute break and then walk another 30 minutes. And do the same in the evening.
Would I lose weight? I dont drink soda nomore. I might occasionally pick on junk food or drink some soda. Ive been walking more and eating a little bit less in portions. And I havent gained a pound since the fall. I actually lost 10 pounds in the fall from walking and doing the above (walking 30 minutes a day)

I walk fast 5 kilometers 6 times a week and don't eat a lot of junk food and I have lost over 45 pounds in 8 months. I don't do any of those dumb diets.
i jog everyday for like 3 to 5 km. i eat in a small portion. and i eat junkfood maybe like once a month. and yes i lose weight and my whole family compliments me for it. you should try and never give up.
I do cardio everyday. I aim to run more than 3 miles but if I'm really sore I will stop and walk and then continue running. That usually motivates me to run even farther. Sometimes I switch it up and do the elliptical for 30-45 minutes instead or walk on the treadmill at 4.2 at a 13.0 incline for a mile (that burns about 200 calories). I also lift small amounts of weights for my arms (I don't do leg weights) and I do several abdominal excercises such as crunches or machines. I substitute coffee for soda and only drink it when I have to. I will allow myslef to have soda though if I'm craving it. I don't watch my portions very closely but I eat very healthy. For example, Kashi products are great especially the GO LEAN! foods. I eat the oatmeal in the morning (about 9am) and that carries me through all of my classes (til about 2) and then I eat a power bar or some other energy bar and do my workout. I am an absolute chocaholic though and even though I try not to eat as much I always end up eating it anyways. I don't think it affects me that much, however, since I workout so much and make sure all my other food is healthy. Just stay motivated and make sure you remember each mile you walk/run is burning about 100 calories. :)
