How do you stop over eating?????!


Question: I know exactly what healthy foods to eat to lose weight and to eat 5 times a day..thru research, experience, and losing 70lbs. But I say 4 out of 7 days.. sometimes I will sit down for a meal. and just keep going back in the fridge until i'm pass stuffed with a tummy ache!!

I want to hear from those who have learned to control their eating habits.

I'm with you - we all know what we SHOULD be eating and how much - but doing it is another story.

I just don't snack and I stopped drinking soda. If I need something sweet, I fix a cup of flavored tea (vanilla chai is my fav) or have a piece of fruit or a glass of juice.

maybe, like kenny c said, find a hobby to keep your hands busy. or just get up and go for a walk outside. when ever you feel compelled to get up from the table and walk towards the fridge - instead get up put on your coat and walk around the block - I'm gonna start doing this myself.

drink water before and meal and when ever you feel hungry!!! also try reading a magazine or work out!

This may sound stupid but i put duck tape aound my mouth and only ate three times a day :)

eat anything u want but just eat a little bit not whole the plates! and work out too

I drink a lot of coffee and smoke cigarettes. I don't think this is a healthy alternative!

It's all in keeping yourself busy with something you enjoy doing. I have that habit as well. When you think about it, when you're working on something you enjoy, or really concentrated on something, you don't think about food. I have yet to find my hobby, goodluck with yours!

It's all come down to self control for me. Honestly, everytime I eat...I'm still hungry. But I have a set amount of each thing and I cannot eat anymore than that. Even when my mouth is watering I just keep telling myself " I'm not a quitter...I have self control ". Once you get that down, it's easier than you'd think.

I also drink water everytime I start to feel too hungry.

I found putting just one serving on your plate and putting everything away and having water ready for when I'm done eating helps....I just drink water to make me feel full.

It just takes self control. There's no easy answer. I have noticed if I control my eating by the second week or so, I'm not as hungry and can't eat as much as previously. I also do NOT deprive myself of snacks that I enjoy, I just eat it all in moderation. When I'm ravenously hungry, I fill up on veggies that I like and make choices such as a good yogurt instead of ice cream, etc... If I eat fast food, I order from the child's menu, if I'm still hungry..oh well, the hunger usually passes within 30 min or so once the food starts to digest. I have lost 30 pounds or more in about 6 months and I'm now at the weight I wanted to be at. Good Luck.

Find ways to occupy yourself like laundry or reading. If you keep going back to the frigdge stock it with yougart or fruits that way you wont feel guilty. This is what I did and eventually I dont even think bout going to the fridge until im am ready to have a small snack which includes grapes or yougart or a fruit cup. I exercise three times a week each class is 1 hour long and is a high impact cardio martial arts program and I absolutley love it!!

well when i felt like that i just grabed a glass of water before every meal even when i felt hungry again .it helped me a lot
