Personal Trainers??!

Question: I've been working out for about 2 months now! Quit drinking soda, and replaced the processed, high fat, high calorie crap in my diet with whole and organic foods!
I feel better, and I think I look a little slimmer...but I have gained 7 pounds!
I know that muscle ways more than fat, and it's normal to gain first....
but my question is...how long will I gain, and how much!? It's making me nervous! I still have a lot of baby weight to lose...and I want to lose it!! When will I start losing this weight!??! HELP!!

You've been working out for 8 weeks and changed the food you eat. Now its about consistency, consistency, consistency. Stay with what you are doing it is great. Now there is only a small percent of women who actually have to worry about put more muscle mass on then what they want. You have to remember that your body weight goes up and down through out the day, I believe something like + or - 5lbs at any given time so that 7 lbs could just be water weight. maybe your getting to much sodium. It can be a number of things. So with that said. You are probably not gaining muscle mass. And even if it is, you cant complain. With new muscle growth your muscles will be more metabolicly active so it will help you burn fat. And dont forget to drink plenty of water it will help your body get rid of its waste faster and more effeciently. Eat 4 to 6 small meals a day. Your metabolism is like a fire that you want to burn bright all day. so instead of gorging your self which is alot like throwing all the logs on the fire at once and when you do that and all the fuel get burned up what does that fire do? its not burning bright anymore so it sits and waits for you to give it more but in the mean time your brain is telling you body whoa we dont have anymore fuel quick what ever comes down the hatch store most of it for the next time we dont have fuel. On the Flip side if you Graze you whould be stoking that fire every two and a half to three hours. And with TIME your brain start to tell your body that it doesnt need to store extra food for fuel it will get it in couple of hours its not worried. But that takes time. it doesnt happen over night I didnt notice how much the food I ate effected my mass building plan until 6 months into it. You really are what you eat. Your next mode of attack is going to be that cardio if your not doing now you should. its whats going to be your best friend to help shed that weight. take 220 and minus your age example 220-20= 200 and that gives you your max heart rate. Your going to want to work out at 60-75% of your max heart rate.200 X .60 = 120 beats per minute during your cardio. and on the high end 200 X .75 = 150 and you want to workout in that target heart rate zone for 30 to 45 minutes or longer but remember to start out slow. When you do a lot of cardio your body uses differant energy systems which in turns effect muscle growth. you are not going to have to worry about muscle mass if you run every day. it just doesnt happen
Long distance runner usally tiny. Sprinters got big legs and big shoulders. hope this helps
