The most effective food drinks that I have found, that you can actually enjoy drinking & feel good about adding to your diet are found at your local health food store...the Spiru-tein mixes are really good--stick with the Vanilla or Choc. (you can always add fresh fruit to diversify the flavors. The very best tasting all around, in any flavor, are from Melaluca, Inc.--very awesome...and the HerbaLife shakes have come a long way since they were founded...you can get either of these from dealers off of E-bay without becoming company sales members to buy at a decent price.
Nothing compares to juicing your own stuff, but you have to delve into a bit of know-how to make them taste worth making, organization to shop for the stuff you need, and the time to clean up the mess afterwards. The ones above that I mentioned will relieve you of needing a bunch of added supplementing...and I have tried them all!
If you are thinking of stuff from the drug stores, groceries, etc...most have chemicals & garbage additives you really don't need or want in your bod...don't even bother with them...go for food you can use, & is made & sold by more ethical businesses.
go to walmart and buy whey protein mix. it is the cheapest place to buy it. check the ingredients. it is the real thing.
Walmart carries some dry powder you can mix with water or milk. I don't remember the exact brand.
