Exercise Myth?!

Question: Does it really take a half an hour of exercising to start the fat burning process? I heard that the first 30 minutes of exercising is pointless, but I think that's a little far-fetched. Anyone know the truth?

yep, for the first part of your exercise your body uses carbs because it thinks it doesn't need to use it's fat, if your diet is correct.

But I've always been taught that it changes fuel source at 20min not 30, of course it depends on how hard you exercise and varies from person to person but yes, it's true.

This is why I'm always telling people to lift to get their heartrate up and THEN go run or do cardio.

Yes, it is true, not a myth. It takes at least half an hour before you start to burn ur fat. Actually, it isnt really pointless if you do it everyday.... But thats exactly why you should burn more calories than you eat to lose weight.

who noes i excersize for 45-1hr

i've never heard that and let me tell ya i go to the gym all the time and when i step on the stiar stepper after 3 sec. it says i've burned fat calories!

YES IT IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes and Yes and if the first 30 min is pointless then try skipping past it

Its true fool.

Not true. As long as you are burning calories you are taking stored energy "fat" and burning that off. A cardio excersize is best with a target heart rate and for 20+ minutes.

welz i alwayz do exercise and keep on going for a lil more when it starts hurting

unless you do a super vigorus exersize, ie running, or cardio, it pays to warm up so your muscles get use to it, it prevents strains,

yep if you do wait training it boost your body to burn calaries longer than just working out and if you work out in the morning it bost your matabolism and you burn more fat during the day
