I cheated!!?!

Question: Ok, so I totally cheated today....usually I eat small meals or snacks every 2-2 1/2 hours. Adds up to about 1100-1200 cals a day. So today I cheated and had a 4 piece nugget from McDonalds and a chocolate munchkin (those little Dunkin Donuts) ugh I hate to have admitted that!! But anyway, my question, is, since I cheated and consumed a lot of cals, should I still eat my dinner? Or just completely skip it? I worked out this morning, and the dinner I had was a chicken breast, some cauliflauer and brown rice...what do you think? SHould I eat it or not?

I think that what really counts is not the amount of calories consumed in any one day. What counts is the average number consumed over a longer period of time, say at least a week. And yes, you should eat a decent dinner tonight. Your body still needs the nutrition, and nothing you mention is bad for you or particularly high calorie. If you skip a meal, you just set yourself up to eat the next time in starvation, and will be more likely to overeat. Nobody's diet is wrecked by a 4 piece nugget meal one time, not even the munchkin will do it. It's when you eat like that on a regular basis you have problems. A diet that is restrictive only leaves you craving for the things you tell yourself you can't have. A diet that suceeds makes allowance for goodies, just in limited amounts. If you want to indulge in a high fat, high calorie meal, you can. You just adjust the fat and calorie content of a few meals before and after. It's the sum total over several days that is important, not a one time indulgence. Honest.

lose the weight you gained from the McDonalds and then eat your dinner

well to make up for it u can eat a little less tomorrow

Forgive yourself.
So you were going to have one cracker with spray cheese on it and the next thing you know the can's pumping air and the box is empty? Drink some water, brush your teeth, and move on. Everyone who's ever tried to lose weight has found it challenging. When you slip up, the best idea is to get right back on track and don't look back. Avoid telling yourself that you'll get back on track tomorrow or next week or after New Year's. Start now. eat ur dinner and get on with life because life is to short to worry about just "one" day.

You should. It doesn't matter. The more you starve yourself from the things you love, the more likely you are too cheat.

Try this: Pick a day every week & eat one of your favorite non-diet foods. Like a reward for all your hard work!
and don't feel guilty!!

When I cheated last weekend I skipped dinner, but it's probably not the best way to go.
