the minimum the body requires to function at full efficiency is two liters in 24 hours. It is safe to drink as much as six liters, especially if you are physically active. More than six liters, depending on body weight, you get into water intoxication and that can be dangerous.

my doctor said 8 8oz. glasses everyday.. you will go the bathroom alot but you will flush out your system which is good for us Report It

  • I heard it was ok up to 4 lts...

i drink alot only while at wk

You can drink as much as you want as long as you don't "hold it in."

I take in about a gallon a day witch is still safe.
Anything over would be bad, I do require this becasue of my work outs. You should be drining at least 8 glasses a day min, a glass is considered 40oz witch is far to little in my personal opnion wether you are working ou or not.

    8 glasses...

4 liters is ok just dont go over board with the water spree ok?

more than 24 oz. a day and less than 2 gallons a day.

they usally say 8 8 oz glasses of water is healthy but now I've heard studies that this in fact may be too much. I would shoot for about 40oz or so per day.

    as much as you want
ou want to be healthy you should drink more than 8 big cups of water a day.

it also helps you lose weight (mostly warm water)

you should be drinking half of you weight in oz, at least. At most you can drink as much as you want as long is its not all at once and your kidneys can handle it.

Your body needs 64 oz per day to maintain it self. I personally drink at least 96 oz every day.

drink enough so you're not thirsty. It varies per person on how much you need.

you actually can drink as much as you want but a lot of urine will come out and it will be a disaster in lessons. we ment to drink 1litres of water a day to stop getting dehydrated from your body to be healthy.

5 litres in a hour will kill u but its okay to drink more than that in a day. The amount you drink really depends on how much you're sweating or salivating. You could drink 50 litres a day if u were sweating 49. just drink if you're thirstty is the easiest thing to do.

a person should at lest if not more 32 oz a day of water. but a person can kill themselfs if they drink too much water. if a person drinks more then a gal. in one sitting it can make the cells in one's body over filled with water and explode.

I know for sure that you're supposed to drink at least 8 glasses, bug I've never of there being a limit.

    Lots

Water and donuts....Yeah!!! Anyway,,,,,,really depends if the water UR drinking is good 4 U.....But I drink around 5-6 Ltrs a day...U will know If UR drinking too Much.

Depends on your activity level- if you are pumping hard in training for an Iron Man during summer, you're going to sweat up to a litre an hour, and you need to replenish that. If it's the middle of winter, and you're going to school/have an office job/etc, where you're not sweating so much, any more than a gallon of total fluids throughout the day is gonna hurt you... The big thing, too is time- if you try to replenish it all at once, you are asking for trouble, but a pint or two at a time over time is the way to go...

Drink lots of water. It helps to flush out toxins. People are only in danger when they force themselves to drink gallons - usually on a dare. But drink up pure H2O all day.

    2 litres...
If you drink too much water, it can get under your skin.
Of course it will clean your intestines.. but i would advise you not to drink too much water

This is going to the girl who left the comment saying that if you drink too much water,it can get under you skin[?]

    -Your a liar.

Yes, there are guidelines. First is the recommended dietary allowance. For water, it is 3.7 Liters a day. Here's some info on the RDA:
The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) was developed during World War II by Lydia J. Roberts, Hazel K. Stiebeling and Helen S. Mitchell, all part of a committee established by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in order to investigate issues of nutrition that might "affect national defense" (Nestle, 35).[1] The committee was renamed the Food and Nutrition Board in 1941, after which they began to deliberate on a set of recommendations of a standard daily allowance for each type of nutrient. The standards would be used for nutrition recommendations for the armed forces, for civilians, and for overseas population who might need food relief. Roberts, Stiebeling, and Mitchell surveyed all available data, created a tentative set of allowances for "energy and eight nutrients", and submitted them to experts for review (Nestle, 35). The final set of guidelines, called RDAs for Recommended Dietary Allowances, were accepted in 1941. The allowances were meant to provide superior nutrition for civilians and military personnel, so they included a "margin of safety." Because of food rationing during the war, the food guides created by government agencies to direct citizens' nutritional intake also took food availability into account.
The Food and Nutrition Board subsequently revised the RDAs every five to ten years. In the early 1950s, USDA nutritionists made a new set of guidelines that also included the number of servings of each food group in order to make it easier for people to receive their RDAs of each nutrient.

The RDA is now part of the Dietary Reference Intake. The DRI includes:
    1. Estimated Average Requirements (EAR), expected to satisfy the needs of 50% of the people in that age group.
    2. Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA), the daily dietary intake level of a nutrient considered sufficient to meet the requirements of nearly all (97
