Do you think this would be too much?!

Question: I am 5'10" looking to drop 50lbs to get to my healthy BMI recommended goal weight. I eat 5-6 small healthy meals, and drink at least 100oz of water each day.

But as far as my exercise program goes, I just want someone to look it over and make sure Im not over doing it.

I kickbox on a regular basis, so I do an hour of it everyday. I am also on the softball team at my college, so I will have a few hours of practice each day, along with the required weight lifting we have to do in the gym.

Also taking a Swim To Be Fit class as part of my college schedule, so thats a required hour or so of swimming each day.

If my body doesnt feel tired or weak, then it shouldnt be a problem right? Most of it is required due to sports and classes, so how would I decrease it if I needed to? How soon do you think I would be able to reach my goal weight with that routine? (Before summer hopefully!)

Also any tips and advice are always appreciated, thanks! :-)

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! If you feel fine, then you aren't over-doing. A big misconception about excerise is that you can over-do it easily. As long as you are "fueling" yourself, and you don't feel "real physical pain", then you should be fine. When I say physical pain, I mean REAL PAIN, not the whinny uncomfortable feeling of working out. Many people mistake that for signs of "over-doing it". Your body isn't going to want to do it, even though it needs to do the extra rep! Just remember that for every 60 minutes of hard workouts, you need to have about 2-3 hundred more calories. (cliff bars are great to eat about 30-60 minutes before your workout and drink about 12 oz of a sports drink during your workout. Drink mainly water, but add in some sports drink as well to give yourself of quick energy! I workout with two drink bottles, one with water and the other with a sports drink. But keep the sports drink to at least half the amount of water you are drinking!) Give yourself the weekend to rest or do a light workout, like walking. Your muscles need to rest to build back up and become stronger.. Just don't rest too many days in a row! That won't help you any!

I kick box too and I know it is a very intense workout. Depending on how your body responds to all the extra work load, you might want to cut one boxing day out of your schedule. But it is all up to you, and what your body tells you!

Just remember that with all those activities you need to be eating the right amount of calories! If you eat too many or too few your body won't loose lbs.

I use www.thedailyplate.com to help me figure out my calories. I log what I eat and do everyday and it tells me how much to eat. It also helps you be aware of what you are putting into your body! This website also has a weight history tool to help you see the lbs you have lost and inches you have lost. I like the water consumption tool as well. Chech it out, but don't buy the gold membership, it isn't worth it. Just use the free membership!

Good luck!

yes loser

i dont care im just collecting points

Sounds like a lot. If you can handle it and it doesnt stress you out- great! The most important thing is burning more calories then you consume so eat a lot of veggies and lean meat. And don't eat too much! Good luck!

look your body need 24-48 hours to rest after and exarsizing cus mulseles grow by tearing just like a cut it need to heal if u exer sise and exersize you will get alot of long term heth problems in the futere as for 50lb lie my go girl personaly i like my gilr a littleplump who cares what you look like as long as you like it and if you dont well that means younhave poor body image adn you need ot fix that

CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN. ANY TYPE OF RADICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ON TOP OF DIETING NEEDS TO BE DONE UNDER A DOCTOR'S CARE AND I MY FRIEND AM NO MD...GOOD LUCK

if you want to become thinner, then it really isn't exercise that does it. keep on doing exercise but i smaller amounts and have a day or so rest as muscles grow by tearing and repairing so give them time to do it, but it is mainly what you eat. maybe do very light exercise on break days. i suggest a breakfast of cereal and then maybe at 11am a piece of fruit. at lunch have a moderately big one. halfway through the afternoon eat a healthy snack or a milkshake or something and then have dinner

Truthfully, losing weight is mostly watching your diet. With those activities you listed and a healthy diet, you will lose a good amount of weight. I would say that's perfect and go for it! :)

Personally, I think that is quite a lot to be doing every day. But, if you say that you don't feel tired or weak, then I'd say it was perfect :).
Well done you, keep it up!<3

it may not be too much physically, but it seems like it would be stressful to do alot of that everyday, but thats my opinion, if i were you, id pick the two most active, for me id say kickbox and softball and just work on those more then the other two

Congrats on the goal you your aiming at. Good job!

You know your body the best as far as how much you think you'll be able to withstand and do. Just don't overdue your body.

Your eating plan seems fine.

Drinking100oz of water is a bit too much. There is a small red flag there. Too much water can wash away all your sodiums and salt. This may due more harm then good when actually thinking you may be hydrating yourself.

I suggest minimize that amount of water and combo that with some gatorade/powerade.

II hope this helps and you reach your goal! Kickboxingl, softball, and swimming? That's pretty kick *** for girl especially.

Good luck to you and I'm pretty sure you'll reach your goal before swimming! =)

Yes it seems like a lot. Get your doctor to check you out and make sure your physically okay.

The issue is more one of calories in and calories burned. If, at your current excercise level, you weigh 50 pounds more than you want despite healthy eating, there is no choice but to either reduce your caloric intake or find a way to burn a lot more calories. To get 50 pounds off by summer is going to take more exercise plus a decrease in calories. Normally, I'd say you were getting enough exercise but not for the goal you've set.

One pound is equal to 3,500 calories. Healthy weight loss is about 2 pounds per week, depending on your current weight. Let's say you want to lose 50 lbs. by June 21, that's about 23 weeks from today.

To achieve that you would have to lose over 2 pounds a week. Which means you would have to burn 7,000 calories over and above what you normally need to maintain your weight over the course of a week.

Unless you are morbidly obese, it is highly unlikely that you can lose that much weight HEALTHILY. Aiming at 30 lbs sounds more promising and you are more likely to keep it off.

Your exercise regime doesn't seem extreme, nor does your diet. Eating 6 meals a day keeps your metabolism revved, your appetite at bay, and your blood sugar steady. Just make sure you include whole carbs, lean protein, and healthy fats in EVERY meal.

Good luck!!

wow thats awesome !!

I do think that's a little too much. I didn't do all that and I lost 60lbs in 4-5 months.
