Anywhere between about 125 and 160 pounds is considered a "normal" body mass index for your height.

Whatever weight/size you are when you're having an active life, in pretty good shape, and eating lots of healthy stuff. That's whatever your best weight is.

A healthy weight would probably 120 to 150 pounds. For your size and age that should be about right. hope it helps :]

If you eat a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, low fat dairy products, whole grains, and drink 8-10 glasses of water a day you'll be healthy. Regular, vigorous physical activity is also good for your health. Health should be your main focus, since weight isn't the best indicator of health or fitness. Live healthy and the rest will sort itself out.

In general I would say 140-150#. The example I give is of my sister and me. We are both 5'6". She weighs 125 and looks and feels good there. I weight 135 and look and feel good here. I am wearing size 8.

So if you feel good at the weight where you are, then tell others to buzz off. You could use some advice on how to dress to not look so skinny--like horizontal lines, focusing on your middle with belts or sashes--rather than solid colors and straight vertical lines. Go to a store sometime when you have plenty of time and try on different styles to see which "works" best on you. Take your best friend and tell her that you want her honest opinion on what looks best and what makes you look less skinny.

I am 5'9 and I weigh 136...I wear a size 6 and my Body Mass index is 20.4...(normal is between 18 and 24) but I still don't like how I look.
