Answers: Bearing in mind i am lazy and i am a stone over weight and trying to lose in a few weeks.

It will only make a difference if you use it ALL THE TIME, or as close to that as you can get.

Using it for 'session work' will tempt you to work too hard, so that you burn sugar instead of fat. Burning sugar will make you tired and hungry. Fat is ONLY burned by gentle movements, and the muscle fibres that drive these movements don't 'fatigue', they can keep working all the time.

If you can use the machine every time you don't need to be somewhere else, using it will become a habit. When using it becomes 'part of your life', rather than something you need to 'fit in', you'll be able to benefit from it without feeling like it's a chore.

Using it while you watch TV is a good idea, because it will turn the television into a useful fitness aid instead of a threat to your health. But if that's going to work, you need to be absolutely strict about it; you MUST pedal, every second of the time that you're watching.

You can also apply it to other 'sedentary' habits too, such as reading magazines, but you need to be just as strict about it; no reading except while you cycle!

Everyone I know that has bought one uses it to hang their clothes on. So I give you 4 months and it will be like Topshops changing room rail!!

I am thinking of getting one too.

Don't do it daily or you will get burned out and stop using it. Try using it for an hour, three times a week. The best would be in front of the TV so the hour passes quickly. And vary the speed and intensity for a better workout.

Put it in front of a TV and it will be much easier to climb aboard--if you don't do that, make sure you have some music. You should try to use it an hour a day. How much difference it will make will depend on how much resistance you put on it (how hard do you make it to pedal), so put that as high as you can and still stay on the bike for an hour (or use a 'hills' setting if the bike has one to vary the resistance). You should be able to take two days a week off, but don't plan those--plan to get on the bike every day, life will make you cancel once or twice a week anyway.

have sex on it
