If im wanting to gain weight, will running stop this?!
Question: im assuming ur trying 2 gain weight in muscle mass. if this is the case then yes running can prevent this...well a lot of running can. its always good 2 run...but if ur trying 2 bulk up u might wanna try 2 decrease ur runs in length and time. u c when u lift weights ur muscles build up lactic acid which does something 2 stimulate growth (i cant really remember all of the details of it). when u run ur feeding ur body with excess oxygen and this oxygen is being sent 2 ur muscles. oxygen helps break down the lactic acid...which means less growth...which then translates 2 less muscle and therefore less weight

It'll slim you down and burn muscle if there's not much fat, so yeah, you will cease to gain weight.
But you should do it anyway, you'll look better
