I need to lose 50lbs, properly, how do I do it??!

Question: Hi
A little about me, I am 21, 5.6" and ......175lbs! Well I am getting married next week and when I come back in Feb, Im gonna get fit and lose 50lbs.

I have yo-yo dieted for a while, and seems ive lost muscle mass and all that

So Im a flabby size 16 (UK) at the moment, but I want to get back to a 8-10 (UK), it may take a while, but I want to do it, right...

I want to get abs, and have a toned body, last time I was a size 8-10, I wasnt toned, as I didnt strength train..

So my Questions are, in order to meet my goals, what should I eat, how should I train & how long will it take?

Thanks..[x]

Wow that other answer is a big ball of fail.

Find your maintenance calories, probably around 1800-2000ish, and then drop no more than 500. Any more than 500, and you will probably start slowing your metabolism down.

Get a full body weight training program, and lift hard. Don't be afraid of looking like a "bodybuilder", nobody wakes up and looks like that. Putting on some solid muscle mass won't make you look big, it will make you look toned. You can't look toned if you don't build up the muscles.

Sit ups are good, but you can't spot reduce. Work the whole body.

Be patient- it will take a long time! But do it slowly and you will make a lifetime change instead of going back on the yo-yo.

Abs are made in the kitchen- get some good foods and try to eat a good macronutrient ratio, get about 40% of your calories from protein, 40% from good carbs like veggies and such, and 20% from good fats which can be found in fish and nuts- don't be afraid of fat! Dietary fats like omega-3 are necessary for the body and actually help you get rid of the stored fat!

Good luck!

What you want is going to be EXTREMELY hard, even for a body builder. but you can do it, you need to dramatically cut your calories that you consume in a day, in HALF, that shows your body that in order for it to get energy it needs to burn your body fat. But in order to tell your body that, you need to stop eating unhealthy things such as friend things, oily or fatty things, and No burgers, No Pizza.

Do around 100 situps a day, maybe 50 in the morning and 50 at night. that will tone your abs.

Jo RUNNING, not walking, running for at least 90 minutes a day. that will overall tone your body. Good Luck!

Exercise & healthy eating
I like bike rides & unless its snowy/icey the weathers not too bad for it at the moment ;)

You really have to fall into a habit of having a tasty but nutritious diet, that way it won't be a pain to be on a diet and you will be receiving all the nutrients you need.

Read the article below

so you should eat a well balanced meal no less then 1200 calories, if you eat less then that your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto everything. you shouldnt restrict any one type of food, your body needs a wide variety of foods. exercise no more then 6 days a week. your body needs time to repair after your workout. fill up on no calorie beverages such as water and tea as well as fruits and vegetables. by the way you shouldnt lose 50 lbs thats to much.
