the one you'll use. seriously, any exercise can help buildfitness, but you have to do it.

for my cycling is low impact versus walking or running. on top of that in cycling you can compensate for lacking fitness with gearing. i dont like those exercise bikes. i like the fit of my real bike. you can buy what is called a trainer that your every day bike clamps in and you can ride inside. you should focus on spinning, which is where you turn your legs over quickly. pushing on the pedals is incorrect form and can damage your knees. spinning is the correct way to ride. you are looking for 85+ rpms.

i mean on a bike you are sitting down lol, thats not enough exercise, walking on a treamill works out alot more muscles and makes you work alot harder , burning more fat.

ive done both and i know that treadmill sucks more, its harder lol so there fore its better lol. (thats how you know youre losing weight, it sucks lol)

treadmill coz it also helps u control ur breath ,,, also the X-bike is bad 4 ur knee joints :)

i like exercise bikes because you can sit down but for losing weight and burning calories you should use a treadmill

treadmill helps you burn fat and lose weight faster than an exercise bike. in about 2 minutes if your going like 6.1 for the spead you can loose as many calories as you would if you were on the exercise bike for 10 minutes. however, if you have knee impact problems......bike is better. if you want to loose a certain amount of weight then you would choose either one but you would spend more time on the bike and less on the treadmill. hope this helped. good luck, God bless

You can run on the treadmill or increase the incline while walking to get a really good workout that burns fat. However, the exercise bike can also aid you in your fat loss. try 30 mins on the treadmill, then 15-20 mins on the bike. The bike works your quads more and the treadmill works your hamstrings and butt more.

it's not the bike or treadmill that loses your weight its the exertion and time you put in, if you can talk you are not trying hard enough, if you can't breath you will stop doing it. so do as much as you can on one then move to the other, in total at least 30 minutes, then each day do longer or harder or more often. If you want something different you have to do something different.

It doesn't matter which one you use as long as you are working hard enough so you're burning more calories than you take in then you will lose weight. Although, I do feel that I can get my heart rate up alot faster on the treadmill than on the bike (as in recumbent bike not spin bike).

I just got an elliptical for xmas and I love it, it seems I burn a lot more calories than I did on my treadmill and it is easier on my knees.
