How much weight can you safely lose in 5 months?!

Question: I am about 25 pounds overweight (i think around that range....I weigh 173 and I'm 5'6''). I'd like to weigh between 140-145. I just had a baby 6 months ago and weigh the same as I did before pregnancy. I want to start an eating diary, with healthy eating habits as well as work out 3-4 times a week (it's hard to get to the gym with a baby you know). Is it possible for me to lose 25-30 pounds in 5 months time? Would I safely be able to lose more than that? I'm also nursing my son as well.

Yes, that is very safe! Cut your calories, but not by too much b/c you are nursing, and fill up on fruits and veggies and protein and lean meats! Excercize when you can. Good luck!?

45-50LBS i lost 66lBS in 5 months but tht going to the gym

Losing 25 pounds in that period of time is completely healthy. Try home workout tapes too. That way you are still home with your baby. And eat healthy! that a big thing to keep in mind!

About 30...
It all depends on how devoted you are...
Good luck
and congrats on the baby....
:]

The maximum amount of weight to lose (safely) is no more than two pounds a week. Nursing your child will also help you to lose the weight. Keep a food journal and try your best to eat 5 to 6 times a day. The three meals should also be accompanied by two to three healthy snacks per day. Make sure you use portion control... it's the main key factor!
