When someone has skin reduction surgery, can that be used for skin grafts, i.e. !
Question: Check out this link. Keep in mind that this link if from 2000. http://www.med.umich.edu/trans/transweb/...
I work in surgery and have been there for tissue recoveries. The skin is usually taken off the back, arms, and legs. The skin has to be taut. Stretch marked and flabby skin isn't taken because the dermatome won't work on them. It only takes off a very skimpy layer of skin.
During the skin reduction surgeries, thick layers are taken off. If you read the link, it pretty much states it well.
You'd think that it is a great idea. Hopefully one day, this will be a feasible possibility. You are a wonderful person to think of doing this for others. Kudos to you!
