How do you motivate yourself to stay on a diet throughout the holidays?!


Question: It's soooo hard! Everything is so good and yummy. How do you do it, or do you just give in?

You need to be realistic. You are going to eat Grandma's Pecan pie and Macaroni and Cheese.... ADMIT IT.

It's o.k. just remember to stick to a healthy diet the day before and the day after any big meal plans or parties. When you can reduce your alcohol intake (especially sugary alcoholic drinks and yeast based products "beer") and drink plenty of water.

Also when you have the opportunity to eat something that is whole grain or high fiber do it.. this will move food through your digestive tract faster creating less opportunities for fat to be transported to the fat holding areas. And lastly if you sugar up you know you've got to go the gym to get it rid of it.

Everything is good and yummy the rest of the year too. You think cookies, pies and cakes aren't available the rest of the year? Trust me, they are. If you can resist temptation the rest of the year, you can do it during the holidays. It seems to me that people just use the holidays as an excuse to pig out like the piggy-piggies they are. Don't fall into that excuse trap and you'll be fine.

If you can't make it, realize that 1 slice of pie isn't going to hurt anything, but 1 slice of pie, 1 cookie, 1 brownie and 1 gingerbread man probably will.

no other choice .just control urselves.think if u get fat and ugly....think if ur cholestrol levels shatters...think of being a diabetic.....
evrything is terrible !!!!! its better to folow ur diet and enjoy the unhealthy once in a while.if u overeat all unhealthy now itself ...u r going to stop it completely for ur whole future life.so buddy!!motivate urself and do nt get tempted.so that u can enjoy the junk all the life eating once in a while.imagine how awful it is when ur doctor says 'nope u got stop evrythinggggg and eat only veggies and fruits'

You remember about a year ago when you last started dieting. it seems like yesterday doesn't it. just think of how good you would have looked today if you had made it through that whole year. just take it day by day and allow yourself a cheat mean once per week. This will give you something to look forward to.
