Bell's palsy is a diagnosis of exclusion, and sometimes assumed to be viral in nature.

You can't just be born with it, you must acquire it at some point in your life, and doctors must rule out other causes before it is called Bell's Palsy.

Also, it is paralysis of all the facial muscles controlled by the facial nerve on ONE side. You don't have that, and you can smile normally too. If you really had this, your eye would be in danger of vision loss on the affected side (as you won't even be able to close that eye). You seem to suggest your face works just fine if you let both sides do the same thing.

So absolutely not. Try not to diagnose yourself, as you'll stress yourself out. If you are concerned, go see a doctor.

from what you have said I would say no - but you should check with your doctor. Bell's Palsy is something that causes extreem weakness or paralyzise on one side of your face, and in very few situations the entire face. The fact that you said you can smile normally would indicate to me that you do not - as you litterally should have a very droopy side of your face that your muscles just can not pull up.

I had bell's palsy at age 12 and again at age 20.
