will zinc help cure tinnitus?!
Question: Will zinc help cure tinnitus?
Answers:
Let's be clear about something first: Tinnitus is a symptom, not a disease.
It can be the only complaint, simple or elaborated, and it can come with a punch of other symptoms, however it can never answer the question: what was the cause?... it's not a disease, but it occurs in many diseases.
so, until we know what caused tinnitus in your ears we cant tell the logic behind zinc treatment.
one speculation is that you have some internal ear injury and zinc helps in speeding the healing process. This can be remarkably correct if tinnitus is in one ear only.
if it is bilateral, meniere's disease come to mind, however i dont know what role could zinc play in its treatment.
It's worth a try, we are told many of us are deficient in zinc and it does no harm to take it as prescribed.
There isn't much you can take, we usually have to learn to cope with it - tune it out like we tune out familiar sounds.
Stress can make it worse, a background noise like a radio can help.
If someone answers offering a "Miracle Cure" for $37 save your money. There is no such miracle cure.
Homeopathy might offer you peace of mind and peace of mind relieves stress. Anything that teaches you to relax could help.
