How can a bug bite tunr into a bruise?!?
i was bitten by something and my whole foot was infected. it was all swollen. i went to the doctor, she gave me antibiotics. the swell is gone but the area that iitches the most is blue-ish (looks like a bruise). why is that?

No idea, but it must be related to blood, which colors the bruise. It could have to do with the insect's saliva mixing with your blood and tissues.
When I was first exposed to chiggers, they liked me very well - too well, actually, and although on most people they made a bump that itched like crazy - on me they each made a purplish-blue mark about the size of my thumbnail. These folks who Never used a doctor, said I should go - but since they never had gone for chiggers, I thought maybe I wouldn't... Wonder what he'd have said??
