Relationships and fibromyalgia? ?!
Question: Relationships and fibromyalgia? ?
Answers:
Hello. I've been going through the exact same thing for the last 2 years. I have lost all my friends, and it broke up my marriage. I am in pain, and suffer from severe fatigue every day. I can't do anything i use to do anymore, so that has made me depressed too. Nobody understands what it's like to feel bad all the time. I guess unless somebody goes through what we have, they just can't understand it. I look at it this way, if somebody is a good enough friend, they won't disappear when times are bad. And if a guy really likes you, he'll still like you even if you have a health issue. I don't know why anybody thinks you would fake feeling bad. Nobody wants to be in pain, or be exhausted every day. I wish i could be more helpful, but the bottom line is people don't understand something, unless it happens to them. That will never change, so it's something i've learned to accept. I just figure i'll have to spend the rest of my life alone. I hope things work out for you and your boyfriend. Take care.
I can't provide any insight on the dating issue, but the fatigue problem in fibromyalgia is often improved with an antidepressant and with daily aerobic exercise. Antidepressants don't always work, and its trial and error to find one without side effects. You could let your doctor know that fatigue is messing with your life, and ask if trying an antidepressant might help. Wellbutrin is a good one to try first since it tends to cause the least side effects, but there are also several other choices that would be a good choice.
