Question: Cancer help 10 points 20 characters.?
my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago and beat it but she just went to the doctor to get scans taken to remove her port and they found a nodule on her left lung. she is a smoker and has been for over 50 years. i know that it is probably going to be cancer but the doc wants to wait 3 months to see if it grows. what other things could it be. i just want to be positive all the way to the diagnosis.

I'm curious as to why the port was left in for 2 years and it wouldn't take a scan to remove it... Unless you are her dr, you don't "know" anything. If a lump was found in a lung, no dr would make the person wait 3 months. That could be the difference in life and death.
Never heard of it going on longer than 4-6 months.
