Is the cardiologist being negligent?!
Question: Is the cardiologist being negligent?
i went to the doc for rapid heart beat and tachycardia... they did blood tests are urine tests, EKG... the general doctor found everything normal But on the EKG it appears Sinus tachycardia.. and he put me on metroprolol 50 mg
Then he reffered me to a cardiologist, he just saw the results of the EKG, asked me a few questions and increased the med to 75 mg and just told me not to worry because it's nothing serious... and come back in 3 months
Now my question is.. isn't it his job to do more testing? Not just rely on the results of an EKG??

That's pretty much the way a visit works unless the cardiologist doesn't feel the previous tests were accurate or explained the problem you were having. Now in the future if you go to him directly for your heart related problems he may order his own tests.
