Is this just swollen glands from a cold?? Or could it be cancer?!

Question: Is this just swollen glands from a cold?? Or could it be cancer?
I have a really bad cold right now, sore thirst, headache all that fun stuff . Anyways I noticed my neck feeling extra sore and I can feel a bump on it,almost the size of a marble, maybe a little smaller, it's sore to the touch , is this just from my cold????

Answers:

Yes. Swollen lymph nodes in the neck are common when fighting a bad cold. Your immune system fills with extra white blood cells(the ones that fight infection) and the result is that some of them end up congregating in the lymph nodes in the area of the infection. They should go back down a few weeks after your illness is over.

I don’t know which gland you are referring to. Your thyroid should have nothing to do with this. You could have an infection if you are referring to the salivary gland, but does sound like a cold. Sounds nothing like cancer.
If you are concerned see a doctor or if it persists.

I am a cancer registrar.

just a cold
