Medical lab technician tell me: VMA test is a test for what?

VMA stands for vanillylmandelic acid test. this test is for what disease? I only know it needs 24 hours urine, thanks

Now I got it, the test is for the diseases of neuroblastoma and pheochromotoma. thank you all.

The most likely is a disease called pheochromocytoma. This is an issue where catecholamines (adrenaline, etc.) are released from the adrenal medulla (an organ that sits right above the kidneys). When those catecholamines are used up in the system, one of the pieces that is excreted is VMA. If there is an excess of VMA in the urine, it could be due to pheochromocytoma.
