Question: How can I tell if I'm sleep deprived?
I mean I know what sleep deprivation is but I'm kinda confused. Does sleep deprivation means no sleep at all? 3-4 hours sleep?? The thing is, I rarely sleep before midnight, and if I do it's a miracle. Everyday(except weekends) I usually wake up around 6:30-7:15. So that means I usually get 3-6 hours of sleep. But then when I come home from school I tend to sleep around 3 to 4 hours in the afternoon!! I'm concerned because they told me that sleep depr. kills brain cells and lately I've been feeling that I'm not as ''smart'' as I used to be. Or maybe that's just me...

I think you should get at least 6 consecutive hours of sleep. I don't think intermittent sleep is good. I think you should manage your time better. What I normally do is when I get home, I would take a 1-2 hour nap and then study until 12:00 to 1:00am and then get to bed. I would then get up around 6:00am. This way, you'll be able to sleep at least 5-6 hours straight. 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon is too long.
