Any doctors/nurses??!
Question:
Any doctors/nurses??
if a doctor wanted a urine sample from someone just for a check up, are they doing the dipstick test while you're at the doctors?? because it only takes a minute for the colors to appear and my doctor took the sample from me and sent me home saying i was healthy, so does that mean it was already checked??

Answers:
They can 'dip' your urine at the office. It is a plastic stip with little test patches on it they dip in your pee cup and read the results at specific intervals (immediately to 2 minutes usually). It detects red and white blood cells (UTI, kidney infection), keytones and glucose (diabetes), specific gravity, pH, bilirubin, etc to check the basic function of your kidneys. If you had symptoms of something else, there are other tests that can be done that have to be sent out.
