What has gone wrong when you are donating plasma and your plasma is pinkish /red!
Question:
What has gone wrong when you are donating plasma and your plasma is pinkish /red?
why wont donation centers accept pinkish and red plasma?
Answers:
I think it is because the red blood cells have hemolysized. That means that they ruptured or broke as they passed through the needle, which happens sometimes. The hemoglobin (the protein inside the RBCs) then mixes with the plasma. I used to be a phlebotomist and we had to redraw if this happened because the tests results would be inaccurate.
